Hi,

We have sx-200 and around 20 5212-5224 installed. One day, user A received call from user B, user A couldn't hear anything but not user B, user A tried to call someone else was fine both could hear, user A tried to call user B and samething happened again.

Another day it happened to different pair of users. I tried to reboot both phone but it didn't do anything, finally it solved by itself (I don't know after how many hours/minutes)

The phone company that installed it, told us that must be the switch (we use Power Connect 3448 POE) but I checked with mrtg, the usage on that switch was small, and also voice got priority than data.

Anybody has similar problem?

Thanks,
minx

One way Audio or No way Audio is almost always a gateway issue.

If these phones reside on the same subnet, no idea's.

If on separate subnets, use the debug tool to determine the gateways before resetting the phone.

Debug access
- press and hold both volume keys
- release one of them
- dial 234 (CFG)
- release the remaining vol key
- select network parameters
- select view parameters
- scroll to the gateway setting

If we don't take care of the customer, Maybe they'll stop bugging us.

Loss of audio either one way or two way is ALMOST ALWAYS a router/gateway issue, especially with an internal call between IP sets.

Are these sets on the same switch? Route between switches down or unplugged?
Are they on the same subnet? If seperate, was router down?
Are they on the same VLAN? Need router to cross VLANs.
What are the DHCP settings? Maybe a one set had incorrect router option given and the reset helped get proper options.

Almost always a router issue.
