We are running SharePoint services version 12.0.0.6219 on a Windows 2008 SBS box.

We have an issue where users scan documents to a folder on SharePoint and they can only see their own scans, I want them to be able to see all documents. I think it is a permission problem somewhere, just to set users to see all documents rather than their own.

This folder is a document library and the file format is PDF.

Any help would be most grateful.

Under that documents library settings I don't have a read access. I have content types, document templates, browser enabled documents, custom send to destination, folders and search.

Under the Versioning Settings I have,

Content Approval is set to No
Document Version History is set to no versioning
Draft Item Security is Any user who can read items
Required checkout is set to No

Have you looked at the View settings?
Make sure someone didn't set a Filter value.

On a single document, navigate to Manage Permissions.
Are the needed permissions in place?

I've had a look and cant find any where, where its says its being filtered.

I have checked the permissions on documents and everyone has the read permission and a few users have the contribute, design permissions.

Within the settings for the documents library I have just gone to Managed checkout files and that lists all files for all users, I don't know if this is any help

I think I might of found the problem, the document library has 2 required fields which when a document is uploaded via explorer don't get filled in.

If you then edit the properties of that document, fill in the required fields and check in, the document will be seen by everyone.

If I remove the required fields will this allow all users to documents as soon as they are uploaded

Allow me a small correction of a common mistake in English please:
You don't say: "might of", it is: "Might've" (= might have)
This is a common confusion due to quick pronunciation, particularly in American accent. Typically people who learn it by hearing, rather than by reading, fall into this confusion.
in English:
Might have -> becomes-> might've (sounds very near to might of)
could have -> becomes-> could've (sounds very near to could of)
would have -> becomes-> would've (sounds very near to would of)
and so on.

:)
