User building custom reports?! Is this possible?

I have a database that holds lots of varying data. I have many different users, that, all want different types of report. I have so far had to build each report as and when they have requested it, but in many cases they are the same reports but slightly different in terms of the criteria they are based upon. Is there a way that i can set up a form that can allow the user to make their own reports based upon their selections of the fields they want to report on? This would make the database a great deal easier to use and make the users a lot happier in that they can report on what ever they want.

Is this possible? If so, how is it done? I am using 97 Version.
