Hi,
I'm planning to configure a Postfix server using Virtual Mailbox Domains. I am using that method because we don't want to have to set up a system account for every mail user. The description of Virtual Mailbox Domains in the Postfix documentation indicates that they allow each user to have their own mailbox, but does not require each user to have a UNIX system account.
I've studied the documenation and I think I understand how to set everything up, but here is what I'm confused about - if the users don't have system accounts, how is authentication handled? In other words, how/where do I set up the actual usernames/passwords that users will use when logging in to the system to check their e-mail?
Thanks
