Hi folks,

I'm trying to access a username and password protected Samba share from Windows via UNC Path. But I can't find a way to integrate the username and passwort into the command line ( \\IP-adress\share )

If I use the "net use ..." command it is clear how to integrate username and passwort (e.g. /USER:name) but this won't work under UNC path ...

Is there any way to do it ?

Regards
Thomas

I remember quite a while back you could use the notation \\<server>\<share>%username:password ...

I tried this on our local server here and it is not working any longer. It was probably patched so you can't pass cleartext user/password combinations.

Other than that the only way to do it would be mapping a drive or using some scripting.
