Hi all,
I did a fresh install of XP Pro on my friends computer. I inputted her name as user and did not use a password. Now whenever the pc is booted up, I do not get the logon screen showing her user name/icon, it just boots straight to the ADMINISTRATOR account, desktop.

She has to logoff and then it goes to the logon showing her icon. I am confused. Why is it doing this? I thought the ADMINISTRATOR was a hidden account.

Please advise

Control Panel User Accounts "Change the way users log on or off"

Make sure "use the welcome screen" is checked as an option.

See if any of these cover what you are describing?

I know how to turn on and turn on the welcome screen, but even with it turned on it still would boot to the desktop. I ended reformatting and starting over, I must have missed something the last installation as this time it booted to the welcome logon and I was able to see my friends name/icon and the Administrator icon was not present.

Thank you so much for all of your links, they will come in handy! I especially liked the tweak one.

:)
