Can you install NAT on a domain controller. If so are there any special considerations with regards to DNS.

1. My intention is to convert a small lan, from a workgroup with a windows 2000 member server hosting an ISDN Line and ICS. To a small Domain with one Domain controller hosting NAT DHCP and DNS.

2. If I can Use NAT on My Domain Controler do I have to set the Public side of NAT up with static IP or can Gain an IP address via dhcp from the ISP as usual.

If it is a small LAN you can use directly ICS (little NAT brother).
If you want to use NAT, then:
- have an internal DNS as forwarder to your ISP DNS server
- you can use your DHCP or you can let NAT to allocate addresses to clients
- the public interface can have IP dynamically assigned
- set your clients to use DHCP (all of them should use as DNS your internal DNS)

This are the major steps. Success! Gia Betiu
