Used Cisco Equipment

I am looking to purchase a few spare cisco modules for my 2811 and came across some for a great deal. My concern is that they may have issues, or worse they are stolen.

Is there anyway to check with cisco and find out the history of the device? The modules I am looking to get are vwic modules, and I can get the serial numbers to provide cisco.

I would check with cisco, but am not in the mood to open a TAC.
