Word 2003
Here is what I would like to accomplish:
I want to have a sequential series of numbers associated with selected blocks of text within a document. This numbering sequence needs to be independent of the outline numbering style of the document. This is easy enough to do with {Seq} fields.
Then, at the end of the document I want to tabulate the numbers and each numbers associated text.
What I have done so far:
As noted earlier, easy to use {Seq} fields to generate the sequential numbering.
Mark each {Seq} field and it's associated text as a citation for a Table of Authorities.
Place a TOA at the end of the document.
This comes pretty close to what I want.
The big shortcoming is that Word wants to alphabetize the entries in the TOA. Since I am using a numerical {Seq} field this results in a list of 1, 10, 11, 12 ... 19, 2, 20... I want them in in sequential numerical order.
Any ideas on how to convince Word to give me a sequential list?
