Currently run TSM 5.1 on AIX 4.3.3 with a 3584 LTO library. Have been testing the 'move nodedata' command in an attempt to consoladate my tapes to speed up recovery process. We already use collocation on certain pools but have found that when reclamation runs under certain conditions data can end up in the wrong storage pools. The 'move nodedata' command would help correct some of these problems, have one server who's data is over 50 tapes but could fit on 10. Tested command on primary storage pool, works ok, tried on copy storage pool command completed with state of success but did not actually move any data !! Have read up on command and it should work on copy pools, has anybody else used this command with copy pools?

Looking at help for move nodedata i suspect it would work fine. The help doesn't differentiate between primary and copy pools. It only mentioned sequential access pools which copy pools are as well. The only way you'll know is probably to try it. I don't have any personal experience using it so can't offer any advice. This forum on tek-tips doesn't see much traffic though so you're asking in the wrong place if you ask me. Try subscribing to the Tivoli list and asking there. It has by far the most traffic and is the most useful tool outside of calling Tivoli or searching adsm.org (which archives the tivoli list).
