I have Samba running as a PDC since quite a while and I want to add an NT4 BDC. I installed NT4 with the BDC option and it when through without a problem but:
- I cannot log to the domain when the PDC is off-line
- Although I can see it, I cannot access it like I access other computers on the network. Because my account has admin privileges, I simply click on a computer from the file browser on my XP Pro workstation to access it. It doesn't work with the new NT box. To access it, I have to enter its local user credentials.
I've read that I have to create a machine account on Samba but, Samba creates automatically a machine account when I add a new computer to its domain and I can see that Samba did create a machine account for the NT4 BDC computer.
What am I missing?
Also, I don't know which version of Samba is running. How can I find out?
Samba is running on SME 6.5
Thankx.
