Use Merlin Legend (release 5) as an "alert system"?

By alert system, I mean a single person being able to call a number of other parties (at the same time) and alert them that something is happening.

Looking at the manual, I don't think this is possible - would be a sort of conference call that you could initiate with all parties instantaneously.

We have Merlin Messaging Release 1 (Copyright August 1999) if that has any bearing on the matter.

You could use an adjunct extension, put a Primary Coverage button for that adjunct on up to 8 phones. Dialing the adjunct's extension number will ring the phones at the same time.

If you have a spare Single Line extension port and a spare Loop Start line port, loop them together with a line cord and put the "line" on as many phones as needed, then dial the S/L extension number to ring the phones.

799 "Page All" should work AND (with the later vintage and adjunct hardware) you could simultaneously activate a strobe, repeating message...whatever.
