Use event manager to push plug in install

I would like to know if anyone here has used the MS Event manager to schedule a java plug in install/upgrade before? I am searching for instructions on how to set this up, currently we don't want to do during middle of day, and would like to schedule for off peak timeline.

Any help is appreciated.
