I'm looking for some help with a new setup.

They have 3 POTS lines and want the system to use line 3 for outbound calls. But, if that line is busy to then use line 2. If that is busy, to use line 1.

I'm assuming ARS (the new LCS method) is the way to go, but I'm not sure how it should work. Am I on the right track?? Any pointers?

Thanks,

Chris.

yes, by default the IPO will cycle through the members of a trunk group in rotation, pos 1 first, then pos 2, then 3 in your case, so connecting the lines in the preferred order will not suffice.

If you always want to use Pos 3 first, etc, then you will have to put the 3 lines into different TG#s. Create 3 ARS tables. In each 1 have an alternate route (priority 5, wait time 2 seconds) which uses the next TG in sequence.

You could also use line appearance keys, 701,2,3, and just let the customer select the line to use.
