I am looking for a way to make lines shorter and to add breaks into lines. In the past I had a special char that automatically inserted a new line. I can't find it anymore. Maybe someone knows how to insert a newline into the text?

Hi Arjen,

errrrmmm - you sure you are in the right forum?
This one is about Visio.
So if you are talking about shape text - what's the problem? hit return and you have a new line.

defenitely the right forum.....
When u make a use case diagram, u can drag and drop a 'use case'. U can change the text when you doubleclick the use case. Here you can type text for the use case. But only in one line. It will automatically create multiple lines if it gets too long. But I want to create new lines myself so that I can create use cases that are less width more height for example.

Sorry, my bad, skipped th "use case" part.

anyway: when I drag & drop a use case shape, Text is initially protected.
I removed Text protection with right click-->Format-->Protection, unchecked "Text" et voilà: could simply type away including line breaks...
