I have a field "rate" that I need to use as a measure and a dimension.
One problem that I have is that I need the measure averaged rather than summed. I think I can accomplish this using the sum/count method, but this requires that the field be designated as measure.
However, I also need to be able to use the rate field as a grouping field. For example, I need to see a sum of AmountBilled by each rate.
My question is, can I use the same field and designate it as both a measure and a private dimension for the cube with only one level or, should I have the same data in two fields in my fact table and designate one as a dimension and one as a measure.
Thanks,
