Is there a way to have a browse textbox automatically go to a specific folder?

Do you mean like for a file upload where you use the dialog box to choose the file?

If so I don't know of any server-side way to do that because usually, for privacy reasons, the only things the server knows abouts the browser is the info the browser chooses to give to the server in the form of Headers in the HTTP Request.

So while the server might learn from the Request the software version number of the browser, the operating system, the name of the current logged in user... I have never heard of a Request header that informs the server of the file and directory structure of the browser client's machine.

Perhaps there is a way to achieve the goal via client-side scripting?
