USB2.0+1394 DV Kit - Computer freezes when I install???

SiiG USB2.0+1394 DV Kit - Computer freezes when I install???

Just bought it from PC World. When I install this into my Athlon 800 Win XP SP 1 the computer boots up and then freezes at the end of the boot up.

I have all the Specs it says on the box but it wont work. When I remove it all is OK. I have tried to change PCI - no change.

Any suggestions?

Do you have any other PCI adapters in your system?

Maybe an Interrupt conflict. Also your mobo isn't a recent one. It may not support all the IRQs that are nneded by your card.

There are numerous threads about this subject in Tektips. Do a little search, you will find lots of toughts on the subject.

What chipset is on that pci card?
If its Ali its known to be troublesome and often no fix for it.
