I replaced my laptop several months ago and do not have a serial port on the new one. This new notebook also is running under Windows Vista SP2. I purchased a USB to Serial adapter which seems to work just fine with Mitel 3300/SX200/SX2000 systems but am unable to use it with Mitel Inter-Tel Axxess systems (unable to establish connection using session manager). Does anyone out there have a recommendation for a USB2Serial adapter that may work? The one I have is a TrendNet TU-S9 which uses the "Prolific" chipset and I have updated to the latest drivers.

The MPS tool defaults to using COM 1. When I use a USB to Serial adapter, it comes up with a different COM port. That COM port will depend on which USB port I plug into. Did you adjust the MPS tool to use the new COM port?

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

Yes. I do believe I have resolved the issue though. I sat down with a returned system on rel 9.115 and played around with several settings and such as well as updating to newer drivers directly from Prolific instead of TrendNet and found that there were two seperate issues going on. The new drivers corrected my connection problem but I was getting data transfer errors once connected and trying to make a local database backup. The resolution for the second issue was to change the adapter com port from 3 to 4 and I beleive that may be due to my internal modem being on com 1 and some older software made assumptions that com 1 & 3 share an IRQ and com 2 & 4 share an IRQ. Everything seems to be happy now. Thanks for the response.
