Sometimes when users are at a clients their usb mem stick won’t pick up a drive letter or appear under my computer. However they don’t have admin rights so cant use disk management to change the drive letter. Is there a way around this? Can they be given permission to do that task without admin rights when I am not there?

I've seen this happen alot when there is mapped network drive using a low letter, such as the 1st free letter after the last fixed drive on the PC. The mapped network drive will take priority over the usb mem stick.

You can either change the mapped drive to another letter or run disk management via an admin user login.

Yes I tried getting the user to disconnect the drives but no joy. Hopefull I will get a look in the morning but changing mapped network drives could be bit of an issue at the office theay are so used to what they have. :-/
