Hi all,
I did not know would best fit the following question, so I decided to post it here.

I have an Ipod which I plug into a USB port in my home computer. I can't get it to read from theses ports. My ipod reads fine when I plug into a USB port at my work computer or in my laptop.
I have other USB devices which my home computer has no problem reading. What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance,
elmorro :)

How many other USB devices are currently connected to the problem machine? Maybe if you disconnected some of them and then tried the Ipod?

Are you getting any error message, or are there any errors in the Event Viewer?

linney,
I only have one permanent USB connection on my machine and that is my printer's connection.
I don't get any error messages when I plug my IPod in, but it seems that it just does not detect the device.
I will look into the links you provided maybe I can find something there.

Thank you,
elmorro :)

Are there any errors in the Device Manager when you plug it in?

Yes it is. This happened a to me before about a year ago with a SanDisk Cruzer USB key. No errors, the device lit up like it was being read, but when I tried to open it to view its contents there was nothing there.
Could it have something to do with USB1 and USB2 connectors? How can I check to see what type (1 or 2) of USB drives I have?

thanks.
