Hi,

I have a very annoying problem...

Whenever I try to install a USB device of any kind I get the following error message
from the found new hardware/add new hardware wizard before it can complete installation:

"Cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware.
An error occurred during the installation of this device. The i/o operation has been
aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. Click
finish to close the wizard."

Can someone help me rectify this USB problem please?!!

Thanks in advance.

I vote with 1stITMAN on this issue. You really have to tell use the operating system version you are running, including Service Pack level, as well as some additional details on the device.

If you system was Win2k the advice would be very different than for Windows XP.
