USB port not listed

Hi

Bought a new printer to replace existing one running from
LPT1, Windows 98SE. The new printer will not list the USB port from a list I have Intel motherboard VS44FX with two USB ports which my scanner and digital camera run from I have uninstall them both without the printer USB being recognised. Spoken to the support people for the printer, Lexmark Z615 and advised the USB configuration to be updated. How do I go about this to get the USB port listed and added ?
Any help will be appreciated.
