I have 6 USB ports on my PC - 4 on the back and 2 at the front. Running Windows Xp (home ed)

The 4 on the back are giving me no trouble, however the 2 on the front are. They were working fine with my storage flash drive until I plugged in my Sony Clie for the first time. Since then the ports do not recognise if anything is plugged in. I have checked the device manager and the offending USB ports seem to be available for use and functioning correctly.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check that the USB slots on the front are correctly connected inside of your computer. The leads may have come addrift.

Thanks - sorry should have mentioned - I have opened up the PC and ensured that all cabling is firmly connected.
