Can I put a $10 USB-expansion PCI card (from dlink) into those extra-long PCI slots in our ML370 G2?

i've never seen slots like these before: they are twice as long as those in normal PCs.

i'm scared ;-)

thanks!

thanks for your reply!

my concern is if the "consumer" card could cause hardware problems.

i was wondering if i can only use special HP hardware in those strange slots.

alright, thanks! maybe i'm just too careful ;-)
i'm going to put the card in. this should speed up the process of creating disc images on an external HDD.

thanks!!

If you are going to put the card into the server, I would put it into slots 3,4,5 or 6. Slots 1 & 2 on the ML370 G2 are the PCI Hot Plug slots and can run at 66Mhz whereas the other slots run at 33Mhz. The slots are numbered from bottom to top (slot 6 is the top slot)
