I have an odd problem with USB wireless on a Dell Dimension desktop. I've had the problem with two different adapters (Linksys and Netgear). I find that when I also have a USB MP3 player or phone attached, network connectivity stops. The wireless connection shows as connected still, but I can no longer ping anything on the network. If I repair the connection (disable/enable), network connectivity is restored. I've tried flashing the BIOS, but it did not resolve.

Any ideas? Thanks

1.) attached to the same USB or directly adjacent USB jack?
2.) try looking in the BIOS for the USB settings, some mobo's allow you to up the juice on the USB jacks...
3.) use a POWERED USB HUB...

Thanks for the reply.

1) The network adapter is connected to a rear on-board USB, the MP3/phone are connected to the front case USB connections, which connect to the mainboard. I'll try plugging everything at the back. I can vaguely remember an issue in the past (not this PC) where front USB provided less power than rear, but not sure how this would be relevant in this case.

2) No such option, unfortunately.

3) Will have to give it a go, if the above doesn't work.
