Hi,

I have recently installed SuSE 10 on my IBM Thinkpad R40E. I have an external USB keyboard which is in itself a USB hub - the mouse plugs into the keyboard and there is a spare USB port on the keyboard for another device.

At boot time the integral laptop keyboard works fine and so does the USB mouse. However, when I press a key on the USB keyboard it either does not respond or sends that keystroke endlessly. If I let the laptop boot and unplug/replug the USB keyboard before trying to log in, the USB keyboard will work perfectly.

From the logs, I can see the kernel detecting the my unplugging and replugging of the USB keyboard.

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? I guess this must be a common problem.

Tim
