usb hardware there but not in device manager

I have usb hardware and its hooked up but i tried using a printer and it wouldn't work and its not in device manager how can i hook it up? i can't find the brand all i see is usb 1/2 so i don't know what to look up for drivers please help thanks! os: windows me

You should have drivers for the printer to enable it to work USB. Did you get a drivers disk with the printer? "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....."

my printer cd doesn't come with that.. usb isn't installed anywhere on my computer the actual hardware doesn't have drivers and isn't in device manager (listed) i tried adding new hardware and adding a generic usb hub root *don't know if thats right* and it says i'm missing usbccgp.sys so i'm gonna try and find that file online.. tell me what you think i need to do? or what drivers i need or where the brand on the usb thing is cause i don't see it.. all i see is usb 1 / 2
