USB External Hard Drive Issue

Spec :win98se , SP1 unofficial ,
40Gb External Drive in Sony Vaoi Case and
Seagate built Drive .

hey ,

I have usb mass storage device which is not appearing in win 98se.
It was a yellow starred unknown device then after a few ms updates

it is recognised in the device manger but does not appear as a drive in 'my computer'

It works perfectly in my college XP computer , popup new device.

any ideas ?


I received no drivers with the device

Your device is more than likely USB 2.0, and Win98se would not have the drivers. May have to search and find Win98 drivers, the other alternative is to get a USB 2.0 card which may possible have the drivers.

hey,

yeah ive searched for the driver everywhere but its not the most readily available bit of hardware ,
usb 2.0 card may be the only option...need new ports anyway...
