I'm running Linux version 2.4.21-27.ELsmp (bhcompile@bugs.build.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-47)
On this server is a call recording application that uses /dev/cdrom2 to archive calls to.
At least once a week I get the following warning in my call recording application
"Unable to write to archive file 4768. Reason: non-zero exit status (19)"
What I end up doing is rebooting the server to recognize the USB DVD again. Is there a command I can use to get the application to recognize the DVD without rebooting. Has anyone heard of USB DVD drives having an issue on this version.
Apologies if I'm missing rudenmentary troubleshooting, I'm a telcom person learning as I go Linux platforms.
Many thanks!
