I recently uninstalled my mass storage USB adapter (usually works when my portable HD can't be recognized). Now, all of my USB adapters have little yellow exclamation points by them on device manager. I have uninstalled every instance and let XP find the hardware....it finds them all, installs all of the drivers correctly, then tells me that none of the hardware can be found? I have 5 USB on the MoBo and a 4 port USB Card. I removed the card and moved it to a different slot...no luck... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Install the motherboard chipset drivers. Even though windows says that the software has been installed and is ready to use, it usually doesn't recognize that the chipset drivers (a lower level than the usb drive drivers) are not installed. Thats should be the first thing you try when you see all those !'s in the USB part of your device manager.

Hope that helps.
