I have a XP machine on which i am trying to plug in a memory card reader(card reader for digital camera flash memory stick) with a USB cable.
But on a laptop with XP, it doesnt recognize it alll. The same thing i plug in 2000, recognizes it fine..
In the device manager, there is a indication of all devices working properly.
SO any help with how i can make the computer sense this new device? Thanks in advance..

Did you try putting a card in after you plugged it in? Perhaps with XP it doesn't register the reader untill there is soemthing to read. Might be a stupid suggestion but it's all I can think of.

I have that problem with my USB scanner on my XP laptop. I have to reboot the laptop with the scanner plugged in to get it recognized.

Actually I have tried all this before only, but didnt worked.
thanks though..
