When I FIRST Start-up the machine there is a USB Composite Device (USB Internet Phone) that is not recognized and get a Windows message repeatedly as you can see here:

However, if I RESTART the machine the USB Composite Device is recognized without any problem and works perfectly. As you can see here: (The green @)

This USB item is checked on the Start-Up list on the System Configuration Utility and also is on the Windows Startup Menu.

I have WinXP Pro, Intel D875PBZ, P4 3.2.

Any ideas how to get it to be recognized at FIRST START-UP?

Hi bcastner

Thanks so much for your post, I did forget to state that I have the SP2 update. I did try the update you suggested but it seems it is already in.

The issue I have is ONLY when I STARTUP from having the machine totally OFF; after the initial start up it does not recognize that particular USB Device, but as I said, if I RESTART Windows will recognize that USB Device with no problem.

This particular USB Device seems "not have time" to be "identified" as other processes have priority from a FULL START, but on a RESTART there many less and it gets "time" to be identified.

Well, that's my impression as I see it happen everytime.

On the other hand, I am getting used to RESTARTING after an initial STARTUP .. Hummmm!!! (not good) [sad]
