Greetings All,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a USB barcode scanner that will work on a notebook PC? I tried a couple of PS2 scanners that wouldn't pick up the bar code on a 7941G-GE or it's carton.

Thanks.

I never had an issue with a scanner, however any WASP scanner will work.
By the way we use USB and wireless scanners for that with no issues.

The reason the PS2 scanner doesn't work is that it uses a 'Y' cable and is looking for a keyboard on the other side of the 'Y'. I had the same issue with my first PS2 scanner. Got to be a pain to carry a keyboard around so we bought a USB WASP wireless scanner.

We use the Symbol (now Motorola) LS2208 at the office and it works well as it's USB (and also supports PS2 and RS232 interfaces if required).

I haven't tried it with Cisco Phones, but I have yet to find a 2D barcode it can't scan. It seems to pretty much be the industry standard scanner.

WASP sells a converter to change the PS2 end to USB. But it wasn't cheap, about 80$. =/ I did try our local Fry's for different converters that were a LOT cheaper, but none of them worked for mine.
