Is the SDM the only way to view the files on a USB attached drive? Is this possible from the command line? I am trying to update my IOS, but the file is on a thumb drive...

copy the file to your laptop, setup tftp, and copy it over to your router..

copy flash tftp:

Files store on USB drives are referred to as usbflash0: (or usbflash1: depending on the port you plug the flash drive into).

If you want to list the files on your flash drive, type
dir usbflash0:

(also if you want to view a text file on your flash drive, such as a config file, you can type more usbflash0:file.txt)
