USB 2.0 vs. 1.1 Compatibility?

1) All USB 2.0 devices should work in USB 1.1 slots, assuming the device complies fully with the USB 2.0 spec.
2) The same should also apply to USB 1.1 devices working in USB 2.0 slots.
In both cases, the device being used will only run at 1.1 speeds.
