USB 1 TO USB 2 ?

If you dont have usb2.0 on your pc then, yes, you would have to get a pci usb2.0 card. Bear in mind that you also need to have a usb 2.0 cable but that often comes with the usb2.0 product that you purchase. Usb 1 and usb 1.1 cables will work on usb2.0 but not at usb 2.0 speeds.
You dont have to worry about the motherboard but you do want to have sp1 installed in win xp home or pro.
And for win98, you need to have drivers, but they will usually come with the pci card you get.
So basically you only need a pci usb2.0 card.
Try and install it in slot 1 of your pci slots. It may not work on slots 3 and onward, depends on the motherboard you have.
