US/UK Date Settings... 1

We have a few clients here that have US dates, rather than UK (as required), and most clients have the correct settings. We have played with these 'wrong' clients to make the date correct, but to no avail. Even changing things in the connection docs advanced settings.
I cannot say for sure that we haven't changed system time without closing Notes, or vice versa... so I was wondering whether we have done some 'damage' to the client that cannot be reversed. (I read in: thread73-47103 that you SHOULD NOT edit Systen Time settings while Notes is open).
If not, could anyone suggest how we could change the US format to UK (day/month/year, rather than month/day/year)?
Our resident Domino Administrator (my boss) says the problem is in the mail database, and on the server, so we would have to rebuild the Domino server to change this... I am not convinced.

Notes normally gets its date settings from Windows. What version of windows are on the clients that are wrong ? What version of Windows is on the server ?

There is a bug in Win 95 and 98 where just because the International settings in Control Panel say UK it isnt. There are 2 ways to fix this.

1. Go into the Win.ini and manually change it.
2. Go into the control panel change the time zone to US, reboot the machine and then change it back to UK and reboot again.

Interesting... I have done similar to the steps above, tho I haven't manually changed the ini file. All of our clients are W98 and W95, though most work okay... it is just a chosen few.
I'll try your steps above just to make sure, tho... (I'm game to stand on my head if someone suggested that would help!!)

We have had similar problems and this approach worked:-

Changed from existing UK date format to any other in Control Panel and rebooted.

Changed back to UK date in Control Panel and rebooted.

Restarted Notes.

I think we had to do this as Notes had originally been installed with the Windows setting as US and did not pick up the change when Control Panel was updated to UK date format later.
