US Robotics fax modem

I am trying to configure a US Robotics fax modem so i can remotely manage a Cisco device. I have found this documentation....

The problem is i can set dip switch 7 to down and factory reset it but what dip switch setting to i set it to in order to establish a console session with hyper term.

Does anyone know how to set this up?

hmm...i still can't get Hyperterm to see the modem with the suggested dip switch settings.

Is the com port on hyperterm set correctly( com1, com2)?

9600,N,8, and 1 hardware none....
