How useful would URLScan provided by Microsoft be for a dedicated Windows 2000 Server running with multiple websites? Is it something that I should be looking at using?

for a webserver accesible from the internet, urlscan is a must.
I have run it on alot of servers without any real problems.
Urlscan setup will place a "urlscan.ini" file in you system, go and check it out. lots of documentation in it. very easy to configure.
Urlscan will "read" all urls reaching IIS, and will block or allow according to urlscan.ini.
when i run a webtrends analysis on a IIS without urlscan, lines like: -dir.... is among the top "visitors" on the website. So it is serious business.
