urlmon.dll is incompatible

Has anyone seen this before? I am getting the following error when I open Outlook 2000- The file urlmon.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook, please reinstall Microsoft Outlook. I have reinstalled Outlook twice and keep getting the same message. I have compared the urlmon.dll to the same file on other computers and have found that it is roughly one third of the size. Could this have something to do with it? I have also tried to replace the urlmon.dll with the larger versions, but can’t because of a sharing violation.

Try this..

Go to Start > Run and type in regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll ( or copy and paste the command )
Press <enter>

Wait for the confirmation dialogue and then reboot.

And FYI urlmon.dll is a file from Internet Explorer. So if registering the file like jmatt does not help you may want to try repairing IE to see if this corrects the error.
