URLEncode/URLDecode does not work :(

Hi there!
I am using powerprompts, I am getting a column value from db which has spaces in between, I am assinging that value to a Var in Javascript and in the ScriptManager i am assigning it to a report object. Inspite of using the URLEncode/URLDecode methods i am still seeing %20 for the spaces in the data that are displayed on the report. Can someone please help me in this.
