URL to report in cognos

Is there a way to point to a COGNOS report residing in a public folder? I want to have a URL that I could put into a web page that when clicked would open the COGNOS report.

Thanks for your prompt response and sorry for not being precise, we are totally new to COGNOS. We are using a Web tool called "report studio" I'm not sure if this is the same thing as "reportnet"

i do know that what you want to do is achievable, but as I don't use Reportnet I can't help you with the detail srequired. Hopefully someone else here can help you out.

This is rare, that I might actually be able to help someone else. I have received lots of good help here.

This is what I use going from a Plumtree portal to an Impromptu report on a Cognos Web server. It will only work inside our firewall.

I hope this helps. It goes to our Cognos server and runs the report with user_id, no password, and passes 2 prompts.
You can capture the report id in Upfront after you run it there.

Use "login.cgi" for v7.1 and "login.exe" for v7.3 and higher. This threw me for a loop.

Thanks for the feedback. I've gotten to the point where I know the link, however I still have to enter userid and password on a dialog windows. We use something called siteminder adding a security layer on top of cognos....
