Hi,
I am looking at using our existing CRS XI Release 2 installation to run reports via URLs eg:
After prompting the user for the logon details the report is run and displayed. My problem is that when the browser window is closed the session remains open and utilises a licence. As we only have 10 they are going to run out quickly. How can I get the licence to be released when using URL reporting ?

Many thanks

We have the same issue. However, it's not that big of a deal for us because I found if the user closes out of the browser without logging out, the session will timeout after so many minutes and release the license.

I think you're going to have to treat it as a training issue when you have to instruct the users on how to properly log out and why it's important to do so.

I recently found another configuration setting that might help. It looks like you can lower the amount of time before an idle connection is closed. The setting is found in the CMC under Servers > Report Application Server (RAS) > Server tab > Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed.

The default looks like it's 30 minutes so you could change it to 15 minutes or less and that should help resolve your issue.

Thanks for the information - most useful. I think the session isn't being removed even though the browser is closed so suspect there is a job, similar to the Weblogic garbage collection, that needs to run...I will dig deeper.
Thanks again.
