What's the latest thoughts on URL pass through?

I want to provide links to running reports without the user having to log on. I assume that this means rewriting the logon.csp?

Anyone have an example?

Thanks in advance.

I have a little code sample in the following thread:

What problem are you trying to solve: logon to the database or logon to Crystal Enterprise?

I'm interested in learning how others are providing links (URL) to reports using NT Security if anyone has any code or latest theory on that for CE 9.

I've done some of this using CE 8, but I don't want to go out and start hacking, so any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

In particular the client is using Lawson and will be doing so from there, but it's basically just URL pass through that's required.

I guess I should further qualify by stating that I don't want the users to have to log on.

You did say you don't want the users to log on. You did not say if it is CE or the database logon you want to avoid.

You can tweak the Guest account in CE to bypass the CE logon request for unmanaged reports.

You can embed the db logon credentials in the URL to avoid the db logon. Known and unresolved bugs can make this tricky at times. The workarounds are inconsistent and/or illogical but they work.

If you want a URL for managed reports, that's more customization than logon.csp.

But I think you know all that, Kurt, so I figure I'm missing something in your question.

I wish to use URL pass through to log on to CE and run a report.

The report will already have the Database connectivity assigned.

The idea is to run a report already in CE and properly configured by passing through the secntauthentication information in the URL.

I've done soin the past, but this is the first time it's been required as I prefer to have users go through an eportfolio or similar interface as opposed to passing in credentials.

Thanks again,
