I have had my Form populating an Access 2000 database working for several months.

I just noticed I have a field called url and there is a tag with an attribute called url in <cflocation url>. Is url a reserved word in Cold Fusion MX?

Like I said everything has been working great with this form but was wondering what kind of problem this could cause and should I change my field name?

Yes change it.. URL is a scope of variables..

Trying to set or read url might cause a problem, especially if you try to read #url# as a collection.

If its not too much trouble, change it.

Can I change it in the Access 2000 Database field and it wont do any damage to my past records that are using this url variable?

I know I can easily change it in my Cold Fusion pages but also want to know if anything will happen to history data in my database after I change it in my schema.

Thanks

Shouldn't hurt anything... I never had a problem changing access' field names... access is easy to backup so back it up and give it a try...

Your other option is in your sql.. saying like..

Select *, url as the_url from table

or something like that...
