I reset to factory defaults an ip406 and now lost completely ping to it . Although it has switched to 192.168.42.1 and i connect directly , i get no answer.

I also use ipoffice manager and don't get any reply .

Help! Thanks in advance

Try using the AT-X2 and AT-X3 (erase config) and the AT-X (erase operational software) command on the DTE port and reload the operational software using a bootp entry.

iv seen after a DTE flush that the IP address gets changed...not to 192.168.42.1 but to something usaly between .3 and .9 If you watch the DTE port and TFTP log you can find it, then set your bootp accordingly and life is good

Do you have a DHCP server running on the network you're connected to? The control unit may have grabbed an IP address from that.

I have had this numerous times on our test rig. Because we upgrade and downgrade so many times on a daily basis we get it more than your average system will.

An AT-X2,X3 and X with a return to ops sw with a bootp entry will cure it.

If you can not receive configuration from IPO that is because you have a different version of .bin file on your PC in folder ../IP Office/Manager than the one that is in IPO!!!
This means if basic version of IPO is 2.1, and you are running version 3.1 on your PC you should downgrade version of Manager on your PC to version 2.1 (just paste .bin files from 2.1 version CD to your Manager folder) and you will be able to receive configuration from IPO!

Please do not cause yourself extra problems by performing an AT-X to default a unit
this will unnecessarily delet the firmware
AT-X should always be considered a last resort when all else has failed.

if you have erased the CFG & cannot talk to the IPO the most likly causes are either you are not on the same subnet as the IPO

as Ragnorak said if there is a DHCP server on the network the IPO will not revert to a default IP Address but will get one from the DHCP server otherwise it will become a DHCP server so the best option after a default is always to set your manager PC to be a DHCP client & set Manager preferences to 255.255.255.255 If your IPO has a greenlight you will be able to get the CFG.

If you have already performed AT-X check the FAQ's for instructions on how to recover your IPO
