Hello. Recently, a 20Gb drive in our Sun E5000 went bad. This drive (with others) contained a 70Gb database. I have never had to do a restore at all, much less a DB. I just loaded the BSM for Sybase last week and got a full backup of the DB.

My question is: Do you have to rebuild the DB before you can even restore the data that I backed up? Or is the data that is backed up all the data I would need to do a full recovery?

Thanks for any input. Please forgive my terms if they aren't worded right.

Josh
