I'm trying to point our citrix metaframe xp servers to a new datastore (MSSQL 2000). I have copied the three tables to the new sql server (DATATABLE, KEYTABLE and INDEXTABLE). created new indexes (DATATABLEINDEX and DATACONSISTENT). also made sure that all binary data over 256 byte is moved.

Then wrote new dsn files on the servers.

after that i ran dsmaint config... and dsmaint recreatelhc which sucseeded and restarted all server.

The problem now is: Users can logon and all seems to be working. i see all settings in the cmc but i'm not able to create or change any onjects. Citrix now connects via sa user to the db to make sure there is no rihts problem on the database side.

Thanks
Frank

have you tried the CHFARM command on the citrix box? This has always worked for me, either starting a new farm, or joining an existing.

Should run direct from the command prompt.

SCANJAM :)

Is it a single server ?

What on earth posossed you to hand build the data store ? I suspect your Citrix server is talking to the LHC and not the Data Store. That is why you cannot update objects. I think chgfarm is your best bet. But you will have to recreate the objects you have, so document them first. Printers apps and policies. Remeber to document who gets what too.

Hey Scott- Long time...
Hope you are well...

I'm moving my XPe Data Store to a new SQL Server (same version)... any pointers? Any papers with directions???

Thanks! and Cheers!

Hi Bran, I would advise the advanced Administrators guide, but if I am right it should just be a case of moving the database. Then doing dsmaint config /usr:<user> /pwd:<password> /dsn:"C:\progrma files\citrix\independent management architecture\mf20.dsn" on each server

And I am moving to Australia, which they tell me is nicer than SQL[wink]

[blue] Oh you know, just doing what I do.[/blue]

Cheers

Thanks!
the /dsn:"C:\Program..." My case would be drive "M:\Program..." My mf20.dsn has the following info:

[ODBC]
DRIVER=SQL Server
UID=CitrixAdmin
WSID=APXW2KMF05
APP=Citrix IMA
SERVER=APXACCTGSVR01

Do I need to edit this info? Change the WSID and/or the SERVER name???

No just run the DSMAINT config command it will change it itself.

Yes if M: is your system drive.

What do you mean you still do drive mapping.....tut tut.

Cheers
