Hello Friends,

I have a simple request. I am new to oracle developer and reports. I need to design a form in oracle developer 6 for getting inputs form the user. I get the inputs and perform a search based on the search and display the result thro oracle reports 6. I may also give the option of printing the report. How do i do this. someone pls help me..its urgent and i am locked in the client place.

thanks for any help.

rgds,

I would create a form that has the basic query functionality in it, then in a POST-SELECT trigger I would create a record group based on :SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY. Note: this method will give a double-hit on the database, one for the form and another for the record group.

Once the form has queried I would hit a button, under which is a RUN_PRODUCT call, calling a report which has a SQL structure exactly matching the forms'. The record group would be passed as a DATA_PARAMETER, and the report would then display exactly what the form showed, and can be printed off as required.
